A little birdie tells me that PMO has instructed media outlets to stay off the topic of PM CARES ventilator scam.
Y'day, @INCIndia & Rahul Gandhi brought up the issue.
Look at the below @PTI_News wire carried in TOI.
See the headline & then the crux of the content.

Other than @IndiaToday, not one TV channel has uttered a word on ventilators.
Many, including me, dug out facts. The Opposition raised the issue.
When people say Opposition is "not doing enough", remember that the culprit is a pliable media which covers up for the govt.

Independent online media outlets are the only ones who ask questions to the govt.
EVERY mainstream media outlet toes the govt line & attacks the Opposition.
TV debates are a joke taking the level of our public discourse to a mind-numbing low with ZERO issued addressed.

Are we always going to say "media is sold out" & leave it at that?
How long will we allow the media to abandon its responsibility towards people & become govt mouthpieces?
The blood of the people affected by PM CARES ventilator scam is on the hands of the media equally.

They are spoiling the name of journalism and setting a bad precedent in the society. This will have long term implications. So sad

I don't know what will bring the sick media and the gone too far people back to senses .. even in this grave situation theres such crass happening
God forbid some of them may have to suffer personally, but I doubt they'll wake even them
Personal lives may also have a price :(

Media is indeed not doing the job but most importantly people now don't want to hear any negative news about the current regime as they are so obsessed with the leader that core issues in the country don't matter for them at all.
This obsession is irreparable and irreversible.
